The Review Process

Following submission of your research paper online, and after an initial screening process, all submitted articles will be sent to anonymous faculty referees. The editorial board reserves the right to select, review, and edit, all submitted articles for publication. As a refereed academic journal, all submitted papers will undergo a sequence of faculty reviews and revisions to ensure quality of the selected articles. The Editor-in-chief chooses anonymous referees from the field to review the submission. This double blind review process guarantees an unbiased and independent review for all papers.

TRU Undergraduate Research Journal publishes based on the following five criteria:

  1. Motivation of the study consistent with the existing literature,
  2. Clarity of the research statement,
  3. Presentation of methodology and result(s),
  4. Discussion and significance of the result(s), and
  5. Organization of the manuscript.

Authors will be notified about the acceptance decisions approximately within 3-5 weeks.

Copyright Notice: Authors reserve all rights to their research works. Articles may also be submitted to and published in other Journals only after its publication to TRU-URJ. However, authors will agree not to publish same article in another Undergraduate Journal.

Privacy Notice: Thompson Rivers University Undergraduate Research Journal will use all names and email addresses of all other authors or those contact us exclusively for the purpose of this Journal and will not share with any other institutions.
